Hello friends of the farm! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having lately. While it's great to see so much sun in June, we wouldn't mind a bit more rain. But, be careful what you wish for right? Lots going on at the farm right now.
Big news! Our new Sweets Farm Shop will be opening for our soft launch sneak preview on Thursday June 27th from 6-8pm. After that, our regular hours will be Saturdays, beginning July 6th from 10am-1pm (or until we sell out).
The farm shop will be filled with VFP farm produce, fresh locally grown produce, Bakers Choice fresh baked goodies, and pantry staples. These items will be "take what you need and donate if you can" Our mission is to ensure everyone has access to seasonal fresh vegetables and fruits.
Our fundraising products that will be for sale include our farm fresh bouquets for $5, VFP Merchandise, Amazing preserved products made by women veterans, farm honey and of course, our famous Cowboy Candy. Hope you can drop by and check out the new additions to the farm.

Did you know that Nova Scotia is the least food secure province in Canada? All monies raised on the farm through our farmshop, bouquet sales and other events goes back into the farm to assist with veterans, their families and our community.

It was a sad day on the farm this month as our spicy feral cat Nermal "Nermie" passed away. Nermie was a presence on the farm for the past 4 years and lived in the sunroom at times, even during winter months (comfortably on a heated pad no less). Farmer Jess made sure all his wounds were tended to and he was fed daily. While he was feral, he would still enjoy the spoiling and Jess was able to occasionally give him a pat. Steve has made a beautiful pine box for him and he has been laid to rest in our new Honouring Garden. We will miss you Nermie
